Q: When is Crash Course and what is the location and time? A: Crash Course is Saturday, February 12, 2022. Location is Hope Barn & Gardens, 26525 N. 19th Ave, Phoenix, 85085. Check-in time is 8:30am (please do not arrive any earlier) Crash Course is from 9:00am-12:30pm | Lunch 12:30-1:30 | Afternoon breakout sessions (if you signed up) 1:30-5:30pm
Q: Who should attend Crash Course? A: Crash Course is open to local titleholders and current/prospective candidates who are interested in being involved in the Miss Arizona scholarship competition. It covers all aspects of preparing for the competition as well as the various aspects of the competition itself. It is designed to leave you confident that what the panelists are looking for is within your power to deliver.
Q: What should I wear for Crash Course? A: Trendy casual attire. Bring a sweater/jacket as some breakout sessions are outdoors. If you book additional afternoon sessions, please bring appropriate attire to complement your session. Mock Interview - state-level interview attire and shoes. Modeling and Onstage Presentation - evening wear heels. Health and Wellness - comfortable clothes and tennis shoes. Mini Makeup Tutorial - makeup brushes and makeup bag. Teen Fitness Choreography and Critique - workout attire and tennis shoes. Jenn Cady Photos - multiple headshot outfit options with accessories to choose from.
Q: What should I bring? A: Please bring pen/pencil and paper to take notes. Please bring water for the day, a snack and you may bring a sack lunch if you choose to not pre-order an onsite lunch or leave to go get lunch. Bring all necessary wardrobe, shoes and accessories based off of your sessions. If you have signed up for a mock interview, bring four copies of your resume and social impact initiative. If you signed up for a mini makeup tutorial, bring your makeup bag with what your would wear for competition and your makeup brushes. It is also a good idea to bring a cell phone charger.
Q: What time should I arrive? A: Check-in begins at 8:30am and presentation starts at 9:00 SHARP! Please do not arrive any earlier than 8:30am.
Q: Can I still sign up for private afternoon breakout sessions? A: It is best to sign up for these ASAP as most sessions are limited including Jenn Cady photo sessions. Please visit the home page and view the breakout sessions to see if there is availability or they have sold out.
Q: I paid for a private mock interview. What should I bring? A: Bring state competition-appropriate interview attire and shoes to change into. Come hair and make up ready so you can just change clothes and be ready. Please bring four copies of your resume AND four copies of your social impact to hand in at check-in. These will be given to your mock judges.
Q: I paid for a session with Jenn Cady on February 12 or 13. What should I wear? A: Bring several options of appropriate headshot attire in several colors as well as plenty of accessories. Hair and makeup services are included in the cost of the photo shoot. Please view the Jenn Cady Photo Session tab at the top for examples of headshot/accessory choices.
